Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND)
All children are special, but sometimes difficulties may prevent a child from gaining the full advantage of the educational opportunities offered within their class.
In our school we have procedures for identifying and assessing children’s additional educational needs. Learning difficulties can be supported with scaffolding and differentiation from staff and are overseen by the Inclusion Manager and Special Educational Needs Coordinator.
Once identified, children are closely monitored and will have targets which are achievable and measurable. This is renewed each term by staff, parents and pupils. These children fall within the category of SEN Support. Where necessary, advice is taken from external specialists to guide and support our efforts working collaboratively with the parents/carers at home.
We work very closely with external specialist professionals to ensure that are efforts have as much impact as possible. Below are some of the professionals we use, please click list for further information on the service :

For some children, further support is needed and, in agreement with parents/carers, the school may request an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
