As Geographers...

We will use physical computing to explore the concept of selection in programming through the use of the Crumble programming environment. We will be introduced to a microcontroller (Crumble controller) and learn how to connect and program components (including output devices- LEDs and motors) through the application of their existing programming knowledge. We are introduced to conditions as a means of controlling the flow of actions and make use of their knowledge of repetition and conditions when introduced to the concept of selection (through the if, then structure).

We will name and locate counties and cities of the United Kingdom, geographical regions and their identifying human and physical characteristics, key topographical features (including hills, mountains, coasts and rivers), and land-use patterns; and understand how some of these aspects have changed over time. We will also explore human geography, including: types of settlement and land use, economic activity including trade links, and the distribution of natural resources including energy, food, minerals and water

As Members of a Catholic Community…..

Our topic of Memorial Sacrifice will focus on the sacrifices which we are Catholics make in our lives as well as focusing on the sacrifices which Jesus Christ made for us as Catholics. We will revisit the event of the Passover and the impact that it had on the Last Supper, before focusing on the concept of transubstantiation and the declaration of faith said during mass. As the festival of Lent approaches, we will look at the sacrifices we can make as Catholics during this time.
