As Effective Communicators...

As Mathematicians...

As effective communicators we will be reading ‘The Secret Sky Garden’ we will be looking at instruction writing and the use of adverbs to include more detail. We will be continuing to develop our use of adjectives by including expanded noun phrases in our writing. Alongside this we will be using commas in lists.  

We will continue to follow the school’s calculation policy and look at addition and subtraction of two digit numbers. To develop our number fact knowledge we will look at numbers 11-19 and how they are made of 10 and a bit. We will begin looking at multiplication and division focussing on how items can be equally grouped. We will be learning our 2,5 and 10s times tables.

As Historians...

We will be programming robots using algorithms that we have created.   

We will be focusing on Geography this term.  

As Members of a Catholic Community…..

As Active Citizens...

We will be looking at opportunities. We will be focusing on how every day is an opportunity to do a good deed. We will look at how Lent begins on Ash Wednesday and the importance of Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday.    

We will continue to learn about our virtues of Integrity. As active citizens we will think about and act on ways to live our lives with obedience, diligence and honesty.

As Geographers...

As Designers with a Purpose...

As Geographers we will explore the continents of the world. We will look at how climate affects the plants that can grow on each continent. We will look closely at our own climate and the plants that grow here.

As designers with a purpose we will be creating sculptures with natural materials in our outside environment. We will be looking at the different shapes of natural objects and how they can fit together to make patterns.

As Scientists...

 

Year 2 Musicians will be focussing on long and short sounds and exploring duration in music.

 

As budding scientists we will look at the parts of the plants. We will be planting and caring for different vegetable and flowering plants. We will focus on what a plant needs to grow successfully.

As Artists...

As Sporting Heroes...

As Artists we will be developing our knowledge of colour mixing. We will look at how we can make different textures and patterns using paint before creating our own collages. We will be evaluating and improving our artwork.

Outside we will be honing our small ball skills. Focussing on the skills needed to hit a ball accurately with a bat. We will practise passing the ball from one person to the next without the ball touching the ground.  Inside we will be continuing to focus on indoor athletics.
