We will focus on the genre of expository writing, specifically report writing, as well as persuasive writing in the form of a persuasive poster. Our key text focus will be based on Floodland by Marcus Sedgwick. We will explore the story by exploring the characters and narrative before producing our two extended pieces of writing. As readers we will focus on answering vocabulary, inference, prediction, explanation, retrieval and summarising questions based on the following texts: Wind in the Willows, Dark Night Sky, Journey to the River Sea How do Solar Panels Work, Lifecycle of a Butterfly, The Walrus and the Carpenter Our grammar focus will be expanded noun phrases and tenses. |

We will use physical computing to explore the concept of selection in programming through the use of the Crumble programming environment. We will be introduced to a microcontroller (Crumble controller) and learn how to connect and program components (including output devices- LEDs and motors) through the application of their existing programming knowledge. We are introduced to conditions as a means of controlling the flow of actions and make use of their knowledge of repetition and conditions when introduced to the concept of selection (through the if, then structure). |
We will name and locate counties and cities of the United Kingdom, geographical regions and their identifying human and physical characteristics, key topographical features (including hills, mountains, coasts and rivers), and land-use patterns; and understand how some of these aspects have changed over time. We will also explore human geography, including: types of settlement and land use, economic activity including trade links, and the distribution of natural resources including energy, food, minerals and water |

Our topic of Memorial Sacrifice will focus on the sacrifices which we are Catholics make in our lives as well as focusing on the sacrifices which Jesus Christ made for us as Catholics. We will revisit the event of the Passover and the impact that it had on the Last Supper, before focusing on the concept of transubstantiation and the declaration of faith said during mass. As the festival of Lent approaches, we will look at the sacrifices we can make as Catholics during this time. |

We will focus on food and where food comes from, understanding the concept of farmed animals and how they are used in food production. We will look at healthy eating and nutrition, with a focus on making a balanced, nutritious meal. |
We will describe the differences in the life cycles of a mammal, an amphibian, an insect and a bird. We will describe the life process of reproduction in some plants and animals. We will also describe the changes as humans develop to old age |
Our topic of Created to Love Others explores the individual’s relationship with others. Building on the understanding that we have been created out of love and for love, we will explore how we take this calling into our family, friendships and relationships, and teaches strategies for developing healthy relationships and keeping safe. |

We will be learning about keeping a beat and playing in time, using different musical instruments. We will also be learning about Music theory as well as key musical vocabulary of minims, crotchets, semibreves, quavers and treble clef 3. |
As Sporting Heroes we will communicate, collaborate and compete with each other. In indoor PE we will be focussing on Gymnastics and in outdoor PE we will be developing our fitness through cardio activities. |
We will focus on the French language and focussing on learning about the feast day of St Bernadette which occurs on April 16th. We will continue our learning food and drink before being introduced to vocabulary based on activities, sports and pass times. |
