Professional Development

We recognise that investing in our staff is absolutely vital.

We work with Westminster Diocese (see right) to recognise teaching talent prior to undertaking Initial Teacher Training with an Internship programme. Once teaching staff join us, they will be working with University College London (UCL) as they undertake their Early Career Training, which is rigorous and founded on strong pedagogical research. We don't stop there though, as we continue to develop our staff throughout their career as their interests/needs change. We work closely with St. Mary's University also to ensure that our efforts are impactful, and that staff get the most value from their invested time.

Early Career Teachers

Starting a career in teaching is an exciting time, but can be overwhelming as so much new information is absorbed and used. We support our teachers in collaboration with University College London (UCL) to provide them with a really robust, research-driven approach to enable them to develop a solid grounding in pedagogy via the Early Career Framework.

We also support our staff to ensure that they are confident in teaching our Catholic curriculum and supporting our ethos and values. For staff that are Catholic, we offer the Catholic Certificate in Religious Studies, which is a nationally accredited course in Catholic Theology that supports and enhances the teaching of RE. We also offer for non-Catholic staff a place on an introduction to the Catholic faith course known as Foundation Stones.

Mid-Career Teachers

We support staff with the following Specialist National Professional Qualifications:
