At Botwell House, spiritual development is rooted in discernment, empowering pupils to reflect deeply on themselves, their relationships with others and the world around them. Through opportunities for awe, wonder and reflection, pupils are encouraged to listen to their conscience, explore life’s deeper questions and make thoughtful choices that reflect their values and faith.
Spirituality through the Magis curriculum

Across RE and humanities based subjects, our pupils can self-assess their learning by showing they understand, discern and respond through our head, heart, hands and voice model.

Our year group overviews provide big questions that our pupils explore in their topics throughout the year.
Spirituality through prayer, reflection and worship

We provide a range of opportunities for pupils to develop spiritually through varied and engaging prayer experiences.
Spirituality through service, justice and community relationships

We recognise the needs of those in our community and decide on ways we can respond to close the social injustice gap.

Our Pupil Leadership Group explore service, responsibility and their personal vocation to lead others.
Spirituality through awe, wonder and creativity

Our curriculum allows pupils and staff to creatively explore a range of themes to develop their understanding of the world around them and their place in it.
Spirituality through belonging, identity and personal growth

Our new mission statement was created through working with pupils, parents and staff to develop a shared vision for the school that drives our daily work and commitment to serve.

We celebrate and embrace the diversity of our school community, engaging in interfaith dialogue to enrich our understanding of our Catholic ethos.

We have a dedicated Emotional Literacy Support Team who work with our most vulnerable pupils to offer pastoral support. This work is furthered in classes where all pupils engage with Zones of Regulation and restorative behavioural approaches.
