Claret Flames (Years 3/4) & Pupil Chaplaincy Team (Years 5/6)

Pupil leadership in RE starts from an early age so we can develop the idea of ‘Discipleship’ and understanding our call to ‘set the world on fire’.

Claret Flames

In Years 3 and 4, pupils are able to apply to become a ‘Claret Flame’. This early form of leadership is inspired by St Anthony Mary Claret and is centred around igniting the flames of the Holy Spirit in all in the Botwell House community. These pupils gain an understanding of why we are called to serve others and how this can be transformed into social action.

Pupil Chaplaincy Team

In Years 5 and 6, our pupils are able to apply to join the Pupil Chaplaincy Team. This is an opportunity to focus on the formation of the whole school community- pupils, parents, staff and the Parish. This level of pupil leadership aims to focus on how we engage and sustain the faith in our ever changing world. The pupils invite and present the community with opportunities to grow through creating charity videos, delivering Lectio and Visio Divinas and working alongside school leaders on whole school development projects.

All of these pupil leaders will go on to change the world and ensure that our mission statement is lived out, not laminated.
